Retaliation is the fifth original studio album by Apocalypse. This time, the sound steers away from the epic and bombastic style associated with the act, that opts for a much more direct, brutal and in-your-face approach instead. Relentless drums, merciless vocals and killer guitar and bass riffs make up the fulcrum of the band's new effort, that keeps a relatively short playing time while delivering tight, heavy, extreme music played at top speed. The lyrics take a dive in dark and twisted themes such as insanity, crime, dystopia and modern-day controversies.
